The Princess Alexandra Home is operated by
The Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Society for the Blind.
It is a modern, impressive, purpose built home which is dedicated to providing the highest standard of residential care in a homely relaxed atmosphere.

The home accommodates forty visually impaired people in single bedrooms with en suite facilities. All bedrooms are fitted with a nurse call facility and the latest standard of fire protection.

All areas are especially bright with contrasting colour schemes. Corridors are wide enough for ambulant persons or wheelchair bound persons to pass each other with ease, as well as featuring colour coded handrails fitted with tactile buttons to assist residents.


The main lounge is situated close to the reception area and dining room. Smaller lounges are located on the corridors near to the bedrooms on both the ground and first floor of the Home.


There are five fully equipped bathrooms throughout the home situated on two floors. Each bathroom includes toilet accessible with various grab rails, wash hand basin and hand dryers as well as hydraulic chair lifts to assist people into the bath. There are also two showers available for use.
